Just watched the pilot of Commander in Chief.
It was okay. Kyle Secor may keep me watching. Geena was fine, I do like the chief of staff.
A couple of major problems:
* The stupid fucking titles! Obviously the audience is too stupid to work out who's who, like they do with all other shows. Especially ridiculous the title for the President (I thought she was going in to see the Pope, stupid me). And the title for the Speaker of the House (after he'd already been mentioned a number of times, by both name and title). I was really waiting for the "Oval Office" title.
* Aaron was wise to avoid (on the whole) mentioning recent political figures. I found the constant references to the present and previous RL administrations distracting, and where does that place this show in time?
* Could Nathan Templeton be a greater caricature? Made Ritchie look three dimensional. Would be a more interesting show if he was more moderate.

I'm reading a book about the children of presidents at the moment - most of the men would have killed for their offspring. Jed Bartlett stepped down from the presidency (oh, yeah. He's not real is he? Damn)
And the Hilary thing irked me - after the first time it felt narky and unneccessary.
West Wing beats it hands down. But CJ/Mackenzie would still be pretty.

The flashback annoyed me too, because if I'm not mistaken is was kinda filmed in almost sepia tones, plus they had the "two years previously". Just in case you couldn't figure it out. Ummm...interesting observation about the lingering looks.

Yeah, that's it.
It's sunk very quickly in the ratings in the US.
