Andy Hallet (Lorne on Angel) has died at 33 from heart failure.

Hadn't realised he was so young in Angel, I loved his voice. So sad, he's younger than me.

[livejournal.com profile] mandysbitch asked me the following, and I apologise for the suckiness of the answers in advance.

1. What was your favourite story as a child?

Assuming novels count, The Ordinary Princess by M. M. Kaye.

Along with Wit, Charm, Health, and Courage, Princess Amy of Phantasmorania receives a special fairy christening gift: Ordinariness. Unlike her six beautiful sisters, she has brown hair and freckles, and would rather have adventures than play the harp, embroider tapestries . . . or become a Queen. When her royal parents try to marry her off, Amy runs away and, because she's so ordinary, easily becomes the fourteenth assistant kitchen maid at a neighboring palace. And there . . . much to everyone's surprise . . . she meets a prince just as ordinary (and special) as she is.

I still have my copy, and when Lara's old enough, I will buy it for her.

2. Is there a character on a television show you like (or don't like) that you think resembles you, or has similar traits?

Ummmm...maybe you should ask my sister that one.

As much as I wish I was as cool as CJ or Miss Parker...I can see traces of Paris, Rory in the early years, Monica (Friends - which really scares me), Willow...I'm really not sure. My brain's not functioning.

Though I think my family would agree that I most resemble Lucy from Peanuts.

3. Do you have bizarre food cravings? Or just normal ones (like chocolate)? what are they?

I'm not a bizarre food eater. Chocolate definitely. Though I think most my cravings tend towards the savoury - savoury biscuits, burger rings, toobs. Also cheese.

4. What are your three best qualities?

Loyal, responsible, trustworthy. I sound like a golden retriever.

5. If you were to write a fan letter right now, who would it be to and what would it say (summarise)?

Since I saw him on Saturday and was so blown away - Anthony Stewart Head.

You are the most amazingly down to earth, laid back, lovely, normal "celebrity" I've ever met in my con-going years. Maybe it's because you're British. And even though you are only 8 years younger than my father (and 2.5 times that older than me), my crush on you has grown exponentially. And thank you for singing Anthem, I'm taking that one as a personal shout out.

If you'd like some questions as sucky as my answers:
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better. If I already know you well, expect the questions may be a little more intimate!
3. You will update your lj with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

I caved and bought the Serenity dvd in the tin. It's very pretty. My sister and I watched it this arvo (will watch her copy with mum). Love that movie. spoilers )

We finished watching Firefly last week. It took me a while to get into, but I love it. River is probably my favourite, her facial expressions and the way she moves, and she looks breakable but she's probably the strongest. And Mal - so honourable. And mum loves his voice, though she has trouble sometimes making out what he says. Out of Gas and Objects in Space are my favourite episodes (with Heart of Gold a special mention for the gorgeous Melinda Clarke - I can't help but be amused remembering seeing her years ago on Days of Our Lives playing the innocent and pure Faith, and now look at the roles she plays ;) I'm seriously considering buying some of CSI just for Lady Heather).

But I'm late to the party as always and everyone's discussed all this before.

But if anyone has fic recommendations...

Slowly making our way through Firefly (and season 5 of Gilmore Girls). Watched Out of Gas tonight. What a bloody brilliant episode and fabulous use of flashback/timeline. And as my sister exclaimed, "There's no sound in space! It took Joss to finally get no sound in space."

Only worked half my shift at work, bad pain in my right wrist was hampering me doing anything much. Dad managed to get me a physio appointment for an hour after he called about it, giving him time to pick me up at work and take me straight to it. Helps that we know the physio very well (he's worked on me for a few years now, and worked on dad about 15 years ago) and he worked me around his other appointments. I'm all cracked now, and it's better, though I've still got some pain in my arms tonight. Might take a little while to settle down, and may not be all related to my back/shoulders.

My mother is like, 12.

I can't remember when it started, whether it was with Buffy or Tru Calling, but she's continuing with Firefly. She sees 'Brian Wankum' in the end credits, giggles and repeats the name. And if she doesn't, I say, "I'm waiting."

Another article on Joss Whedon, plus a link to a 4 minute interview with lines about Jar Jar Binks and princess phones that made me love him even more.
