Always wait till after Christmas to buy calendars to take advantage of the 50% off. Bought a weather one and a gorgeous one of Gil Elvgren pin-up girls (I was wondering what mum would say, but she admired it). They won't be used, I like to keep calendars that have gorgeous pictures. Will get a cheap one for writing on.

Bought Desperate Houswives season 2 dvds for cheap (KMart has 20% off). But still can't get Stargate Atlantis season 2 for a decent price. JB Hifi has been sold out for about 3 weeks and they had it the cheapest. I would've got it at KMart if they'd had it. A number of the stores seems to have sold out, and the few that did have it were $75 and up. I don't know whether limited stock was released originally.

Watched the first 3 episodes of my season 1 Medium dvds today. My sister hadn't seen them; I think I enjoyed them more than the first time I watched them on tv. The fabulous relationship between Allison and Joe was there right from the start.

It's amazing how much the girls have grown up in just a year or two. And the gag reel was funny, and Maria Lark (Bridgette) is hilarious. The new deputy mayor was actually in the pilot episode as a Texas Ranger, she accompanied Allison on the plane. And the first episode with Detective Scanlon - was so funny when Lee went off on Allison and then they would only talk to each other through Devalos. How their relationship has developed :)

My mother is a nut. I got an autographed photo of David Cubitt (Scanlon) in the mail today, there was also a little photo of him that was taken when the photo was signed. Mum liked that more and complained when I said she couldn't have it ;) She put them in the album (I have a number - wonderful Mum has organised them all - autographed photos, non-autographed photos, clippings), stroked the little photo, and said something along the lines of "handsome little man". And then as she was closing it, she said, "Stay away from that hussy on the next page." I've got a gorgeous photo of Melinda Clarke (Lady Heather - CSI) in a beautiful red dress lying back on a bed there ;)

On Friday arvo, went shopping with mum. While she was looking for irons, I went into the lovely ornament shop. They had some of the Whimsiclay Cats, one of which my best friend had given me for Christmas (all the way from Europe).

And I saw this "silver cinema" one and had to buy her:

Dottie )

I must see whether they can order me in:

Gone with Cats )

Also considering Sally (Cabaret). And there's a couple more that are cute, but not so much interested.

Was doing some sorting and storing of stuff today. Magazines, clippings, musical programmes, Playbills, autographed photos etc. I am a collector of stuff.

I've got various press kits (or at least partial ones) from a number of films through the 80s/early 90s. Mainly photos, some promos/info, a couple of slides. From movies such as Silkwood, A Christmas Story, Postcards from the Edge, The Killing Fields (young Sam Waterston!)... Years ago, the local cinema used to have a sale every 6 months or so of posters and press kits, I spent a few dollars there. And I was going through them today, and thought that if I ever decided to I could probably make a few dollars on ebay.

Eating doritos and seafood dip, while reading New Scientist, in the bath is luxury...and a little awkward.
