Just watched the pilot of Commander in Chief.

It was okay. Kyle Secor may keep me watching. Geena was fine, I do like the chief of staff.

A couple of major problems:

* The stupid fucking titles! Obviously the audience is too stupid to work out who's who, like they do with all other shows. Especially ridiculous the title for the President (I thought she was going in to see the Pope, stupid me). And the title for the Speaker of the House (after he'd already been mentioned a number of times, by both name and title). I was really waiting for the "Oval Office" title.

* Aaron was wise to avoid (on the whole) mentioning recent political figures. I found the constant references to the present and previous RL administrations distracting, and where does that place this show in time?

* Could Nathan Templeton be a greater caricature? Made Ritchie look three dimensional. Would be a more interesting show if he was more moderate.

I felt that they were trying to make themselves more serious by setting themselves in the real world, and that rubbed me the wrong way when they're more of a soap.

except that it makes no sense if politically they are set in the future but for storytelling they must be in the present ... of sorts. It doesn't sit well with me

It's confusing and distracting.
