I'm sad but relieved.

While I was pretty certain it would end this season, I was worried that Wells may try to do an ER. For me this show has always been about Bartlet and Leo, CJ and Toby, Josh and Sam, Donna, Charlie, Abbey...and everyone else. It was about the Bartlet administration, not the office of President. I went in expecting it to end with them leaving office. And I'm relieved it has lived it's natural life cycle.

While it hasn't been the same show for me the past few years, I haven't been able to let go. And I don't know what I'm going to do knowing that Allison won't be on tv each week.

What I'm sadder about is the probable death of what little remains of the fandom, or at least my little corner of it. My time online has already diminished incredibly, and there's so little commonality left.

That's what scares me really. I think the show has come to its natural end, but I'm still new to the fandom really (7/8 months maybe) and I don't want it all to die yet ... it's much too precious.

I agree with you on all points.

Its sad, but its probably for the best. It hasnt been the same since Sorkin and Lowe left.

I really really hope that Zoe and Charlie get together though.

I will really miss the show, but I have missed the West Wing that I loved for some time now. I watch the old episodes on Bravo, and it only makes it worse. Losing John Spencer was huge blow for me. I adored the character of Leo.

I haven't participated in the TWW fandom, but I remember being really sad when the B5 lists started dying, or wandered so far off topic the show was rarely discussed.

Yes. That's it.

I don't have the enthusiasms for other shows that so many of my flist have. I so rarely watch television. I'm fairly sure that I'm going to become one of those LJs that people used to not mind reading.

I'm a friend of dianora2's, home with a cold, made even the worse for the news TWW is leaving - not that I wasn't expecting it, but it's the only show I really follow, I just discovered it a year ago, and I'm sad that it won't be around any longer. But I agree with your thoughts - it's not about the 'next' administration, and I'm also relieved we won't have to watch a still excellent show run into the ground.

You're comment certainly hits home for me. The only other show I watch is 24, and that certainly doesn't inspire fanfic, at least for me. I hope my flist friends stay at LJ, so I can keep up with everyone.

It's a fair bet that Allison will be on television somewhere *eg*

She just won't be C.J.

I know what you mean about JS. I saw someone's note online that "John Spencer just died," and it took me a moment to relate it to the West Wing, because it was so unexpected. Then my first thought was

*dies of shame*

"there goes the show."

Hey, you can come watch Galactica with the rest of us nerds, if you want to.

I know what you mean. That certainly happened with XF fandom -- which I left early, because by 8th season I wasn't really watching anymore -- and it still makes me kind of sad to look back on that. It just won't be the same. :(

I've been in and out of fandoms for about the last 10 years. This is the longest I've been in a particular one, and while there are other shows I enjoy, I haven't found any where I want to do more than just drift around the edges. So I'm very much at loose ends.

I'm fairly sure that I'm going to become one of those LJs that people used to not mind reading.

*shakes head*

Your lj has always been more about you and yours (well at least to me). So if you post, I'll read.

There'll probably be remnants still around, but the fandom as a whole started falling apart a couple of years ago. Unfortunately fandoms, as well as shows, seem to have this life cycle :(

I was never a Rob fan ;)

Unfortunately I don't hold out much hope for Zoey and Charlie. Dule has barely been on this season.

Agreed. Which has lessened the blow.

I just haven't been without a real fandom for 10 years. And while there's shows I love, there's nothing that I'm feeling an urge to get involved in. Plus I think I'm tired of the nonsense that goes on in fandom.

I watch lots of shows, but there's nothing that I feel the need to get involved in fandom/fic wise.

Doesn't matter. I will harass you. And ask about the birds, and work, and how you're feeling, and your family. I will randomly email you, if I have to.

*hugs*

Don't make me come down there.

It isn't just WW, it feels like my ten years of fandom has come to an end.
