I'm sad but relieved.

While I was pretty certain it would end this season, I was worried that Wells may try to do an ER. For me this show has always been about Bartlet and Leo, CJ and Toby, Josh and Sam, Donna, Charlie, Abbey...and everyone else. It was about the Bartlet administration, not the office of President. I went in expecting it to end with them leaving office. And I'm relieved it has lived it's natural life cycle.

While it hasn't been the same show for me the past few years, I haven't been able to let go. And I don't know what I'm going to do knowing that Allison won't be on tv each week.

What I'm sadder about is the probable death of what little remains of the fandom, or at least my little corner of it. My time online has already diminished incredibly, and there's so little commonality left.

I'm a friend of dianora2's, home with a cold, made even the worse for the news TWW is leaving - not that I wasn't expecting it, but it's the only show I really follow, I just discovered it a year ago, and I'm sad that it won't be around any longer. But I agree with your thoughts - it's not about the 'next' administration, and I'm also relieved we won't have to watch a still excellent show run into the ground.
