Saw the rheumatologist today. Looks like we've finally got the anaemia problem beaten. He was very pleased with my haemoglobin levels, said it's equivalent to that of a healthy young male and that he'd be happy to have that level.
He'll test my B12 levels yearly to see if they're dropping, which would signal pernicious anaemia. I asked him if it was at all related to the damage to my stomach from anti-inflammatories/the bleed. He said no. He also said that as my immune system is a bit overactive, it is possible that the positive antibody test was false. A matter of wait and see.
Showed him my chilblains, probably got half a dozen of the little red itchy things. Pretty sure I got them last week when I got into a warm bath with too cold hands. Felt them burn, but too late by that time. Have to be more careful. A few weekends ago I cleaned a venetian blind and windows. A few days later I noticed my fingers were swollen like when I have vasculitis. They went back to normal over a few more days. I asked him whether a lot of activity can make them swell, and he said yes, especially with my circulation being worse over winter.
But overall he's happy with my circulation, and barring emergency appointments and accompanying prednisone/blood pressure medications, I'll see him in August.
And I'm still unique, he said he hasn't seen anyone in the literature quite like me :)
