Our cable was acting up this afternoon, the online button on the modem flashing on and off. Finally came back on, but the computers wouldn't connect to the net. It seemed like the passwords/network had somehow disappeared.
So tonight we used the Bigpond installation disk and managed to get dad's up and running (he's connected to the modem by ethernet cable), though weirdly everytime you turn his computer on now it comes up with a bigpond connection program/icon which beeps as it connects (didn't have that before). My computer and my sister's laptop are also now connecting by wi-fi.
However, if we turn off dad's computer, we lose our connection to the modem. That never happened before either. I don't know what the hell is going on.
