krazykitkat: (breathe (Ever After))

I survived work yesterday. Still worked about half an hour over my shift, and didn't get everything up to date, and there's probably something major I've forgotten, but it was a reasonable day and I didn't break. And choccies from my manager and another co-worker, and a gorgeous budgie coffee mug from a friend in another department which made my day. And a household called into helpline and asked them to thank me for making sure she got the gift she ordered before Christmas (that was one of the dramas driving me nuts earlier in the week).

So a month off...

And I need to try and not have great expectations, because that way failure lies. Just relax and destress and sleep, and watch plenty of dvds, and start a jigsaw puzzle. Best friend/hubby/kidlets (from Switzerland) for lunch on Tuesday, followed by a massage.

It's nice to finish with a reasonable day - you can let it go then.

And you're so right about not setting yourself too high expectations. Enjoy the time you have, love.

Though now it's half over and I really need a year off :\ Takes so long to start to feel relaxed.

Well it was a week later than planned...had it Tuesday. Felt pretty good, though I was a bit sore the next 2 days (I assume that's reasonably normal). She hit a couple of really sore spots. I only let her know at a few points when the pain was too bad, I can take a reasonable amount (used to the physio hitting spots that go into spasm).

Need to see how much I get back through my private health insurance, and depending on that, I might go a couple of times per year.

Well communication is key. Set up a system of feedback. Rate pain on a scale of 1-10, anything over 7 make sure you mention it. Yes, you can probably take quite a bit of pain, but it's not really a situation of "no pain, no gain."

You can still do beneficial work for someone without leaving them with bruises. And even deep work can be relaxing. With your health issues I would definitely want to check on your breathing muscles. Serratus Anterior, Serratus Posterior, Scalenes (anterior and posterior), the Quadratus Lumborum and the diaphragm for a start.
Gentle work in these areas can be really helpful to those who experience a lot of stress & anxiety.

Hope you continue to improve! *hugs*
