NSW SEVERE WEATHER WARNING
Widespread Hazardous Winds, Flash Flooding, Damaging Surf
For people in Central Tablelands, Hunter, Illawarra, Metropolitan, Southern Tablelands
An intense low in the Tasman Sea is forecast to move towards the central New South Wales coast tonight.
The area affected by this warning includes the entire coastal zone from Ulladulla to Seal Rocks, extending inland to northeastern parts of the Southern Tablelands [northeast of Goulburn], eastern parts of the Central Tablelands and the Hunter district.
Winds in this area are expected to increase this evening to average over 65 km/h with damaging wind gusts of up to 110 km/h. Destructive wind gusts in the order of 125 km/h are possible on parts of the coast.
Very heavy rain is expected to cause local flash flooding this evening and overnight along the coast and eastern parts of the Tablelands.
Damaging surf conditions are expected overnight between Ulladulla and Seal Rocks, with waves exceeding 5 metres in the surf zone. Water levels higher than the normal high tide are possible.
So be careful my NSW friends, it's supposed to really hit around 9pm. They're forecasting up to 100mm (4 inches) of rain in the next 12-24 hours. East coast lows (sometimes known as east coast bombs) are always fun.
