The first lines meme. And more just random 25 stories rather than my last 25.
1. You stare at the map on the computer screen, searching for a solution among the pixels.

8. She slowly got out of bed.

10. They follow the steps laid out the first time.

19. A little gasp escaped her lips as her spine hit the wall.

21. You've been on the campaign trail for five weeks when she arrives to meet him at some non-descript hotel in middle America.

25. I slowly surface through the layers of sleep, becoming aware of a pressure on my cheek and a soft breeze fanning my face.

So basically my first lines are short, simple, and nothing spectacular. A majority start with a pronoun. Was interesting going through my stories, as someone who writes a lot of dialogue, it's really only the drabbles or ficlets that may start off with dialogue.
