krazykitkatI effectively sprained my neck today. I don't recommend it.
I'd finished breakfast and was just stretching with my hands behind my head (elbows bent). I felt a clunk/crack and something move in the base of my neck. Much pain, trouble moving neck and shoulders. Went and laid on the floor to try and ease it, dad tried to massage. Was a bit better, but pain especially turning to the right or head down. Knew I needed physio appointment right away, necks are a bit of a worry.
Dad called, talked the secretary into an appointment within the hour (helps to mention that we've known the owner of the practice for too many years). Got Mike, who I've had pretty regularly. I mentioned my hips had been acting up, so he loosened them as well as the neck. He said that my hips being tight had probably tightened up into the neck, and when I stretched I must have forced the joint past where it should go and irritated the disc. Essentially a sprain of the neck.
He managed to ease it off and says it should only take a day or two to settle down. It's a lot better, still some soreness and tightness, and I need to be careful and couldn't lift Lara tonight, but fingers crossed. Am on digesics, which he said was a good idea, helps relax the muscles. Hopefully will sleep okay.
But today was a write off, and I'm so past bloody exhausted. And I've got Phantom on Sunday, and I'd rather a hole in the head at this point.

Anyone seen Alexis Denisof (Wesley - Buffy/Angel) at a con? Please tell me he isn't worth seeing.
He's replaced Amy Acker, after she had to cancel again due to filming of Dollhouse. So it would be Alexis and Juliet Landau.
I'm kinda wanting to go, but also worried, because it's in mid September, the weekend after I see Phantom for the last time. So it would be Phantom on the Sunday, then work during the week, then con on Saturday. And I just don't know whether I could cope.
