Got an Amazon parcel today, only took about 10 days which is amazing (though the box was bashed in on one side)...except the other half of the order which was shipped the day before this parcel hasn't arrived yet...

I typed a wonderful street name last week - Titwobble.

For the Aussies and
jackmaybenimble:
Dad had a call the other day from Inspector Frank Gilroy. I wondered (if he was in the job while ACP was on) if people said "Yeah, right", or "And I'm Shirl", when he introduced himself.
*
Saw my rheumatologist on Tuesday. He's pretty happy with me, especially since my circulation hasn't been too bad this winter. I've had chilblains, a crop of about 14 on one hand at the same time, plus others which were obviously contact (on the pads of my fingers), but they've managed to resolve themselves. They tend to be worse at the start of winter, it takes a while to get back into the habit of being careful with hot/cold.
He was a little excited because he had something to recommend to me. Another of his patients who suffers badly from chilblains had none this winter. She's been taking a grape seed extract, there's scientific evidence that it strengths the capillaries. The original medication is expensive, but Blackmore's puts out a similar thing, so I'm going to give it a go.
He's a great doctor :)

Date: 2007-08-23 03:41 pm (UTC)And isn't Titwobble sublime (or ridiculous)! I laughed and told workmates. I told mum and she started doing her Sam the American Eagle version of Tit(willow)wobble Titwobble Titwobble.
I do get the occasional giggle in this job. Like the person with surname Starling who lived in Feather Street. Or the household with 9 people (7 kids) and only one toilet.

Date: 2007-08-23 11:00 am (UTC)I'm watching Season 5 Scrubs. What are you watching?

Date: 2007-08-23 03:52 pm (UTC)I haven't bought s5 Scrubs yet, waiting for it to come down in price. I actually haven't watched my s4 dvds yet.
What am I watching... I've usually got several different shows sitting down under the dvd player, giving me choice depending on how I'm feeling. At the moment the primary occupants are:
- s4 Pretender - haven't watched it in a few months, lost interest nearly half way through
- s3 H:LOTS - I need to be awake for it, so unfortunately not really happening at the moment
- s1 Police Rescue - the first ep worried me, thought I wasn't going to like it as much as I remembered, but watched another 2 eps and I'm back into it - actually a really good show for me at the moment, exciting enough to keep me awake, but doesn't require too much mental exercise
- s2 ER - 1.5 eps to go. This is my 'watch when mum's not ready and I have 10 minutes to kill' show. Doesn't really lose anything watching over an episode over a couple of nights.
Haven't started Cagney and Lacey yet, going to watch it with mum. We're watching s1 of St Elsewhere at the moment, which I'm really enjoying.
I should pull out the half hour show dvds I've got and watch for variety. Scrubs, Muppet Show, Murphy Brown, Mad About You...

Date: 2007-08-23 03:55 pm (UTC)Dad actually met Brian Wenzel (and I think maybe Shane Withington (Brendan)) when dad was the responding cop at a break-in at Wendy Strethlow's (nurse Judy Loveday) house.
