Oh, Pierre! I love you!
Tropical Cyclone Pierre has formed in the Coral Sea...giving me 6 for the season (which finishes at the end of May). Which is still lower than my forecasts, but only by 1-2. It's been a strangely slow few months cyclone-wise, not only in my region.
*
It's raining in the west of NSW. Best rain in about 7 years, best May rainfall in about 18 years. Tibooburra's had 65mm (~2.5 inches) in just over 24 hours, 4 times its average May rainfall. And it should reach Sydney late tonight.
Based on historical analysis of the ending of El Nino events, the drought should break by August.
*
And this was the Sydney Harbour Bridge this morning. (from SMH, more here)

My brother works quarantine at the airport and work was a nightmare with everyone arriving en masse after 25 flights were diverted earlier in the morning.
