Opinions on Ugly Betty? I'm generally not a fan of comedies. Anything it's similar to? Really not sure we have time for it, our viewing schedule is a nightmare. Damn tv stations putting everything on at once.

I can't get past the basic problem that SHE'S NOT UGLY. Irritates me too much, as do the costumes. (Self-conscious people who are uncomfortable with how they are perceived do not dress like that.)

Not very helpful, I know. I've only seen a few episodes and thought they weren't bad, but nothing special. I'd give it a go if there's nothing on, but I wouldn't go to any trouble to fit it into your schedule.

The costumes and her general appearance do tend to make me roll my eyes. Seems very over the top. And fashion industry/magazines doesn't appeal to me at all. Seems to me there'd probably be a lot of cattiness which would result in me throwing things at the screen. I tend to get annoyed with Gilmore Girls when it goes too much into the "rich" world.

I saw a little bit and it's too over the top for my tastes. Plus anything to do with the fashion industry is a pet hate.
