We've devised a new form of torture. Wrap someone up in elastoplast, leave it on for a day, then rip it off. There was lots of yelping and almost tears as mum took the tape off my back tonight and I have a welt.

*

It rained tonight! Some heavy showers, and from the radar it looked like the fire area was getting it. So hopefully it will have done most of the rest of the controlling. They may not need to waterbomb tomorrow, and then baby Lara might be able to sleep.

I'm getting the impression that the majority of you aren't interested in the fire stories/photos. I put them up because it's something that is a little more unique to my corner of the world and I thought there might be some novelty factor. Is there any interest in a google earth map of the fire area and where I live?

There are only two ways to remove elastoplast. One is to submerge the said area in water for 20 hours before removal. The other is to just pull very hard. Unfortunately, I've found that the latter is the only tne that woks.....

I, for one,am interested. And I know exactly where you live (which sounds far more stalkerish than it's meant)but you'll understand why if your parcel ever arrives!

Damn! It didn't seem to really take any hair off, jut skin :(

Little worried about the parcel...I'm just hoping it's stuck in the Christmas backlog of parcels at the international mail centre.

Indeed there is! I didn't have a chance to comment last night but I was fascinated. My dad's a firefighter so I grew up around it. Well, not brush-fire-fighting, but the general atmosphere.

Googlemap away, m'dear. I read it all, even though I'm a lazyarse about commenting.

Oh, and I was watching Mythbusters with my mom the other day, and they found that soaking bandages in vodka made the removal a wee bit easier. Uh, bottoms up? ;)

I'm interested, Hon, I just haven't had time to comment (working full-time this week and finding it hard), and even I did, I would say 'Wow - I don't know how you live with the heat anbd the stress' and you've heard that from me nefore!

But I am interested.

Sorry about the pain. I'm impressed you didn't cry. I remember the first time I had my legs waxed, I only got through by reminding myself that I'd given birth, over and over

I don't need to hear from you to know that, my Love :)

I nearly did cry, but was more laughing trying not to cry.

That makes me giggle! Never had my legs waxed (don't shave either, have very little hair and it's light). I've still got a scar from the welt.

I'm interested! Keep posting! I just couldn't think of anything intelligent to say (also, I hated the world yesterday, so that was problematic).

As for the tape. JESUS! Ripping of a bandaid hurts, and I'm also allergic, so they leave marks... That would hurt like a sonofabitch. *offers alcohol, or possibly heavy drugs.*

*hugs*

Did hurt, and I still have a scar where the welt was :\

He put hypo-allergenic tape on first, then the elastoplast. Luckily I'm not allergic.

I thought it was interesting, hearing about the fires and I liked the photos of the firefighting helicopters! Feel free to post again about the bush fires if you wish... I'm listening... or is that watching? Whatever! *wink*
