Skycrane Delilah filling up at Macquarie University to dump on the fire at West Pymble. Apparently she did 6 trips. Really fabulous photos and commentary by my sister.
When me and my roomie arrived at the lake she was filling up.

The last time she filled up. I had no idea what her name was until I checked this photo; she really looks like an odd insect. This is one of my favourite photos. I love my 1.7x lense.

The poor lake. Half empty, or half full? One of the other PhD students asked whether they have permission from our ex-Vice Chancellor, Di Yerbury. The lake was commonly known as the Di Yerbury Memorial Lake (while Di was the Chancellor) to the staff and student body. We find that amusing.

You can see the spray. That's why I was getting a little wet. You can also see the smoke from that fire in the background.

One of my favourite photos.

Banking for us crowds. You can see the condensation trails caused by the rotors. Another favourite pic.

Gee, Di, you want to clean the lake? That water is rather dirty...(one of the PhD students was really on a roll).

Fire, Delilah and a birdy. I was amused by the bird. After this, Delilah headed back up to the Mt Kuringai fires.
