I'm an Aunt!

I have a niece!

Lara Kate born 6.11pm tonight in Sydney
7 pound 3.5 ounces
47cm (18.5 inches)

Katherine was induced this morning (they didn't want anyone to worry so didn't tell us - Katherine was having problems with her pelvis, could barely walk, so the doctor wanted the baby born a little earlier), went into labour at 10.30am. She had an epidural about 2.30pm and labour stalled and the doctor said they might have to do a c section. But he went away and when he came back she was fully dilated.

I was debating between Auntie Kate (what I mostly get called) or Katie (what my grandparents called me), definitely going with Kate now. We really love the name. And Lara's Theme is mum's and dad's song (the first movie they saw together was Dr Zhivago).

Michael will call in tonight with some photos. We'll see her tomorrow.

Well the funny thing about Ethan is that his father wanted to name him Cameron... but his mother had a 1st cousin named that. So I said, let me see what I can come up with. And high on my list was Ethan (he was born March 2001.) I didn't realize until much later that it was after The Pretender 2001 had aired. ROFL Though honestly it didn't occur to me at the time.
So anyway, I didn't find out until he was born that they'd chosen Ethan for their baby's first name! *grin*
