Some photos of my little corner of the world, taken by my sister.

The bush shots are taken just up the road from us.

A Scribbly Gum on the edge of the fire trail. It's called a Scribbly Gum because a bug burrows into the bark and causes a scribbly pattern on it.

Looking down into the valley from the fire trail. You can see Berowra Creek in the valley.

Looking along the fire trail.

Random shots of our garden (totally overgrown, since mum's not physically able to handle it anymore it just does what it wants. The drought and inability to water it much (even though our sprinkler system would use less water than using a hose) is causing problems.)

I emailed an ebay seller that I'd be interested in buying their thing, but the price they want on buy it now is beyond my budget and also much more expensive than the price I paid for an autographed photo of the much more famous co-star. They've just put it up for the 5th month at exactly the same price! Does that make any business sense?

It's a pretty area, but summer is usually spent on edge with the bushfire threat.

same around here. :-( Southern Utah was what burned this year - and I hated thinking "thank god" but really ... there have been years when we just watch the mountains turn to ash.

Do you live disgustingly woop woop, or only moderately so? Okay, that sounds silly, but you know what I mean.

lol! I'm a Sydney-sider, we're in the far northern suburbs. Takes about 45-50 minutes by train to get to Sydney city. A lot of the outer suburbs of Sydney, and even some further in, are pretty bushy. Back in 94, the bushfires were within 25 minutes drive of the Harbour Bridge.

You live in a beautiful area. I've never seen anything quite like that. Thanks for sharing them!

And a note on the ebay thingy. I would think that if it hasn't sold in five months, then they might want to try lower the price to see if it will sell that way. Of course, if they do that, watch the shipping. I've known people to raise the shipping because they had to lower the price so that in a sense, they're still getting the same amount.

It is very pretty. Now if only we could get rid of the bushfire risk.

I'll keep an eye on it. THough I would've thought they'd lower it way before now.

It's the far northern suburbs of Sydney. We're very hilly, though not as tall and mountainy as the Blue Mountains. But it is quite reminiscent.
