From a channel 10 press release:

Jericho – the biggest US event drama series for several years. After a nuclear disaster caused by several terrorist attacks destroys most of America, residents of a small Kansas town must come to terms with a new and very different reality.

In an Australian first, TEN will premiere Jericho concurrently with its US broadcast in September, to tap into global publicity and capitalise on launch hype. Australian viewers will also have access to Jericho storylines devised specifically for mobile and internet download, creating additional marketing and promotional opportunities and further engaging audiences with the show.

But I assume that would mean then a hiatus mid season. I've vaguely heard of the show, but is it supposed to be one of the "must see" shows?

If it is, I've missed it completely; I've never even heard of it. As far as I know, CSI is the top-rated series here, and most of the other non-cable top shows are crimefighting shows too. "Jericho" must be one of the overhyped new cable shows.

I think it's actually a CBS show, but I agree with the overhyped factor.

It's CBS, starting up when the new ratings season begins. I guess it'll start to be advertised in the next month or two.

We get a television series at the same time as the US!

Good, about fracking time, maybe they will get the hint and start doing it with other shows so I don't have to feel like the evil bad person downloading.

Though that would require them to change our ratings season around, or just have a big break over Christmas.

I'm lazy, tend to dl a few little shows, but I never seem to get around to watching them. Just don't find it comfortable sititng in front of my computer to watch them, plus the net distracts me.

Meh, it'll probably just be a whole bunch of American propaganda and self praise - "Look at us, we're battling terroists". Ra ra ra. Boring.

Yeah, that's one thing putting me off it. One of the reasons I kicked "24" after the first season.

Kansas...I'm wondering whether it's going to be partly based on the very good (but very scary) tv movie The Day After...
