Dana Reeve, the wife of late Superman star Christopher Reeve, has died of lung cancer, a foundation set up for her husband says.

Reeve who fought for better treatments and possible cures for paralysis through the Christopher Reeve Foundation, died on Monday. She was 44.

As she was a non-smoker, makes you wonder how much stress played a role.

44...just the right age to grow up in a smoke-filled home. My parents, neither of whom smoke, did, and I worry they'll end up with somethign like that. =(

I'm choosing to look at it that she's with him now, which is my hopeless romanticism coming out.

The doctors think it was probably the result of being a professional singer and in too many smoky clubs.

She was still very young to have it, and non-smokers are still very much a little minority of lung cancer cases.

It is tragic, their child is an orphan at 13, that is so sad.
