It is okay to see Serenity without seeing all of Firefly first?

We're slowly making our way through it (watched "Bushwhacked" tonight - creepy), but we're not going to get any further before it comes out.

You'll understand perfectly well without seeing any episodes, and if you've seen a couple, you'll have a good enough picture to "feel" the characters.
