Winterfest (link to website containing more info), a medieval festival is on this weekend, both days at Marsfield Park, Culloden Road, North Ryde (opp. Golf Range adjoined to Macquarie University) from 10 am till 4:30 pm. We went last year and enjoyed it immensely.
There's jousting (people on horses with lances), sword fighting of a number of different sorts, a birds of prey show, stalls selling all sorts of things and food (got some pretty jewellery last year), an archery contest, etc.
