Managed to sleep last night without drugs.

We've found with a lot of dvds that the sound isn't loud enough. Mum's partially deaf, so she has a lot of trouble hearing things that are at a decent volume, let alone things that aren't loud enough for those of us with (mostly) full hearing, when the volume is up full. Pay it Forward, Bend it Like Beckham (watched tonight, and I had to strain to hear it at times) and Over the Hedge are some examples. Yet the extras or deleted scenes are often easy to hear. Mum is getting very frustrated and angry that she can't fully enjoy movies.

So, a question for the flist: Do you find that it's hard to hear some dvds?

[Poll #1128103]

According to my brother, a lot of studios are mixing their sound for people with surround sound systems, which means that it isn't loud enough on ordinary TVs.
