Headline on the SMH:
Dry as a dead dingo's donger
I love Aussie slang! Translation: donger - penis.
And it's too bloody dry. Only about a quarter of our average June rainfall, sunniest June on record, and driest ever in terms of humidity levels.
Constant blue skies, temperatures averaging around 21-22C (70-72F) instead of average 16-17C (61-63F). And damn NW-W winds, everything even drier and electric.
And a bushfire yesterday in Lane Cove National Park. They were doing a controlled burnoff and then there was fire on the other side of the creek. They thought their fire got away but they're now thinking it was deliberately lit. They brought in the water bombing helicopters and more crews and some areas were on evacuation alert.
A week of constant rain would be really lovely.
The blue sky and the temperature are lovely, but the winds are often strong and I'm so tired of being zapped and clothes clinging and hair static and dry skin and the poor gardens. Plus such dry electric winds often give me headaches, had one most of yesterday.
