Can't say I'm sad about Ricki-Lee going, never liked her (okay, there were yells of delight in our household). She tends to cover the weaknesses in her voice with the theatrical performance. But I'm surprised.
And WTF was Chanel doing in the bottom two again? She was the absolute highlight of the night.

We think Marty's still in because my CJ has been sending SMS votes for him. When they showed his clip tonight, CJ emitted these two high pitched whistles.
We were in hysterics last night, all the noise CJ was going on with during most of the performances. He was only quiet during Courtney's.

One of my brother and sister-in-law's budgies, Spot, is talking. Apparently he says "I'm fed up with it" in my sister-in-law's tone. My brother cracked up the first time he heard Spot, said to her, "He's doing a you!"

I agree about Ricki-Lee, I'm not a big fan but her rendition of "I Have Nothing" was awesome, I was shocked to see her go especially since I know a lot of kids in that 7-13 year old age bracket that I imagine accounts for a lot of the votes who just loved her.

Also agree on the WTF? with Chanel, her rendition of "Across the Universe" was just beautiful, my mum who is one of the biggest Beatles fans you'll meet in day-to-day life adored it, she is a Chanel fan but tends to be very critical of any Beatles cover songs although I did get her into Rufus Wainwright through his version of "Across the Universe" from the I Am Sam soundtrack, swhe was so pissed off that she was in the bottom three again, my mum thinks that maybe choosing a Beatles song that was not as popular was her downfall.

Also was it suprising to you that many of the contestants were so unfamiliar with The Beatles? I understand that they are young but Anthony is my age as are most of the other singers left with the exception of Casey but I was familiar with the music of The Beatles even before my mum rediscovered her obsession about 10 years ago when the anthology came out, if you are a music fan shouldn't you be familiar with the music of the most sucessful band of all time?

Chanel's a true musician. I really hope she gets picked up by a more independent label where she cna do what she wants.
And yes, very surprised. It's true that I love older music and barely know anything about newer music, but have they been under a rock?
