Thoughts on The 4400 and jms's series Jeremiah? Should I watch?
I am a B5 nut, plus X Files, Star Trek etc.

***

Got seasons 3, 4, 5 and 7 of Buffy yesterday for $21.83 per half season at KMart. Now complete.

***

Worked out my preferences for House of Reps. And have the Senate down to definite ticks/crosses/maybes, based partly on the smaller ones' group voting tickets. Now need to work out some order. There's a few too many crowded at the bottom end, hard to work out which one I loathe most. And the middle is going to be a hodge podge.

***

The first line drabble meme thing...and to think I used to jump into these things. No confidence to even consider it now :(

ETA: and I was going to just offer up my first lines to people...but after looking over them, I have bloody hopeless first lines. another failing to add to the pile.

I really liked The 4400. Rather inventive; I think you'll enjoy it.

[livejournal.com profile] sabine101 loved jeremiah. I saw parts of it and enjoyed them. no Babylon 5 but on a smaller scale it was sort of intriguing.

I really liked The 4400. Though, I have to admit that I was hugely disappointed with the last part. I thought it was a weak ending.

Haven't seen the other.

I don't know The 4400, but I recommend Jeremiah. It's an odd show, but very jms.

I only managed to catch one episode of Jeremiah, it was good, but didn't hold me. But then, it aired at an awkward time, and I just didn't want to make the effort. But it is JMS, and I've heard wonderful things.

As for that whole "failings" thing. *gives Kat the evil eye*. Stop that.

For the record, I suck at first lines too - they're just not my forte. I will not be jumping in either.

My dear, if you can find inspiration in my crappy first lines...

More power to you, I give you my blessing.

Besides, it means more fic for me to read. Muahhaa.

*sighs*

It is true that many of your first lines are so...unique...that I can't imagine writing anything for them. But I've got a good start on one...

Okay, I confess, many of your first lines are too hot for me to handle... ;)

Is "unique" a word for "shitty"? Because you can just be honest, LOL. I did a meme like this before, and discovered that first lines are *SO* not my forte. Embrace the suckage.

And yes... I do have a tendency towards the racy. *blinks innocently*

No, unique means unique. When I read many of your first lines, I remember *your* drabble so clearly that I couldn't begin to try to come up with a different story with the same opening line. For example, "His foot parted her knees beneath the table." How am I supposed to be able to think of anything but the game?

:hides from evil eye:
I was so downcast when I started going through the first lines and just chucking them out.

So does that mean if I stumble over a first line of your drabble, hit my head, and get inspired, it's okay with you if I write it? ;)

Go ahead. But I'll be surprised if you get inspired.

No title yet, but:

"Danny emailed me." CJ appeared as surprised as Abbey expected her to be. Since CJ showed no inclination to speak, Abbey continued, “He wanted to know what he had to do to get a, ‘Yes,’ from you.” When CJ only lowered her eyes, Abbey asked, “What was the question?”

Reluctantly CJ met her eyes. “He just wants a date.”

“And you don’t?” A reproachful expression was the only answer she needed. “So, date him.”

CJ whispered, “He’s a reporter.”

“CJ, should I have dated a man planning to become a priest? Take a chance.”

“With my career?”

“On your life!”

I liked 4400 and was extremely displeased that I never heard of it being rerun. I was out of town for the last two eps, so I still have no clue what happened.
