Last Saturday, when we'd come back from seeing the Les Mis concert, I walked through the garage and slipped in a puddle of water on the lino (covering a concrete floor). I managed to keep myself upright, but was expecting to be jarred.
About 4 hours later an intermittent pulsing headache started over my left temple. It came and went, was bad Tuesday morning interrupting my sleep. Body generally was sore, the headache wasn't bad but really started to annoy me. I tried to get a physio appointment but there was nothing available and he wasn't working his usual Friday evening. On Wednesday I ended up smsing the physio (Nick's said before if I have trouble getting an appointment to let him know), and I spoke to him that evening. He said the headache was probably due to the slip, and he'd call me Thursday morning when he knew what time he could fit me in.
Went up at 9.30 Thursday morning, he fiddled with my neck, I hadn't realised how sore it was. He managed to do enough to stop the headache. I was feeling looser, but over the weekend I got tighter again, was having trouble moving my shoulder and neck. Called at midday and thankfully Nick was standing next to the secretary and said he could fit me in at 6.30 (after work).
He said I was 'one bent and twisted girl'. Oh, in so many ways ;)
He's never seen my neck so tight and it took quite a bit of work to get my neck and shoulder moving and then he could crack my back. The top three vertebra were rotated. Things are looser now and I'm hoping it will settle down. I've reached my limit on my private health insurance, so I have to pay the full amount. Plus that's 4 visits this past month.
I do wonder whether it would have been safer to just let myself fall. Didn't realise staying upright could cause such damage.
