Bled like a stuck pig

I had the paper cut from hell today, in the middle of JB Hifi, on my big toe of all places.
I was looking at cds on a table, and they had their big ads hanging off the table to the floor. My toe went under it and when I moved, it sliced from the base of the nail across the toe. I thought, "ouch", and when I looked, blood was already pouring out. I had things in my hands and couldn't react fast enough, and part of my brain was fascinated in a 'how could there be that much blood?' kinda way. By the time I dropped things and grabbed a hankie, the blood had already flowed onto the thong. I limped down to where mum was at the back of the shop, had to stop a couple of times to rewrap the hankie to try and stem it.
Asked a passing shop assistant for a first aid kit or something, she didn't seem to know where it was, but she brought back some wet paper towel and a big bandaid. It had eased off, so mum's bandaids were enough. But about 5 minutes later I felt funny, light headed and dizzy, compounded by general exhaustion (only had 1-2 hours sleep Sunday night, slept better last night, but need rest badly).
I'm lucky if I get through a week without a paper cut, and I do tend to bleed well (probably the medications). But this was really impressive.
