krazykitkatBit of a kerfuffle today. Somehow there was a stuff-up, and someone else had my rheumatologist appointment. And he's booked pretty solid.
We waited and he saw me between patients. Finger joints definitely swollen (and I've got pains in my toes tonight). I'm going on Prednisone. I've had it a few times before and didn't have any side effects, but that was only over 2.5 weeks. He's putting me on it for just over 6 weeks - 15mg daily for first 10 days, then step down 2.5mg every week. I don't think that's a high dose, but the chance of side effects is probably higher.
I have to see him again in 3 weeks. Hoping the Prednisone won't take too long to start working.
