EBay is an evil evil place, where things won't stop whispering "Buy me" and grab your ankles as you stroll by. How did I resist the siren call for so long?
And I'm getting a dvd player :snoopy dance:
The Hours -
Saw it with my sister on Sunday. Was so looking forward to it and it didn't let me down.
Allison Janney...need to swoon some more over that amazingly talented gorgeous woman. She didn't have a lot of screentime (and so pissed that some of it was cut in the week or two between press previews and the final opening), but she made the most of every second. I could watch her face forever and her hair was so much nicer than a lot of her CJ hair. And that opening shot and the jeans and red jacket and sunglasses...still my beating heart. I join you in the shallowness,
mandysbitch ;) So glad AJ talked them into letting her have Sally. I don't think I can quite imagine her as the flower seller...though I'm sure she would have pulled it off beautifully.
And why the hell wasn't Meryl nominated? Take Renee out and put Meryl in. I loved Chicago, but Renee was the weakest link.
Nicole was fabulous, I felt that Julianne Moore was the weak link but that may just be because the Laura Brown story was my least favourite in the book and it carried over into the film.
Stephen Dillane (Leonard Woolf) was amazing, he made me cry. Ed Harris also wonderful.
Not how I'd imagined Louis.
As my sister said, Toni Collette looks fabulous in 1950s getup.
I read the book a few months ago and I'm glad I did. Gave me a better appreciation. I'm not as well versed in the book or Virginia Woolf, visit

wonderful ponderings.
( Just a few more concrete ponderings so as not to spoil anyone )Just a beautiful film to look at, so rich in colour. The editing was fabulous, the cuts between the three time periods very well done.
Want to see it again.
