Mar. 24th, 2012 07:24 pmThis may be a really stupid question: what is the point of an ipad/tablet if you already have a laptop? What does it do that's different (apart from being smaller)?
I only bought a laptop a year ago, just had the desktop before that. I am not someone who buys technology for technology's sake. Never been able to afford it plus I have a real issue with the environmental/waste issue when people throw out tvs/computers etc that still work perfectly. It's become the new keeping up with the Joneses. We won't be buying a plasma/lcd tv until our present tv dies. I'm still using a very old mobile phone, no point in anything more when all it does is sit in my bag & rarely gets turned on.
But I'm interested in what ipads/tablets do.
I am wondering about an e-reader...though I have a mile of paper books here to be read and I worry that the e-reader would just end up an expensive way of reading fanfic.
