Oct. 9th, 2010 04:38 pmLyrebirds are a large Australian bird that are the imitators of the bird world. Chook the Lyrebird at Adelaide Zoo has had construction going on in his vicinity and so has added it to his repertoire, along with his standard bird calls (rainbow lorikeet, kookaburra, etc.). And yes, if you go, "Did I just hear what I thought I heard???" you quite likely did. Chook also talks.
There was a lyre bird in the bush at the bottom of our street. He liked to do car alarms.
