Keflex is the most vile tasting antibiotic. Urk. You just keep burping it up.
The damage to my nails from the chilblains over winter is pretty bad, especially my right index finger (I've already lost flesh on that one because of ulcerated chilblains the first year). The nail is buckled and really thin, and water is getting under it (the pressure can really hurt). It's gone a lovely yellow/green colour. Got an emergency appointment yesterday with GP, I can't risk the chance of infection with my compromised circulation.
I'm on Keflex, and I have to try to keep it dry. Which is difficult being right handed and it being the most used finger. I have a finger condom, but it gets incredibly sweaty.
And I have to keep nail clippings to get them tested for fungal infection. Apparently the fungal treatment drugs are really expensive, but if it is infected, the doc can apply to Canberra for them at reduced cost. I assume I must come under the chronic disease category in Medicare.
The nail is going to be pretty painful as it grows out, it's so thin the finger has little protection. I may lose it yet. The nail that is. I'm kinda attached to my finger at the moment.
