Another day, another storm
Dec. 8th, 2007 01:03 amAmazing storm this afternoon across Sydney and beyond. It was almost 400 kilometres across (about the distance from New York City to Washington DC) and about 20 millimetres of rain fell in the CBD in just 10 minutes - which happens only once every two to five years.
Radar at 4.30pm. I was at work in the yellow to orange area, just to the left of Gordon and below Hornsby. We lost the lights momentarily, areas of the car park below my window had water over the curb, the wind was swirling and thunder and lightening very very frightening.

The middle of Sydney city. More can be found here.
