Into hour 16 of only partial power. We lost one of our three phases just after 10 last night during the big wind storm (we put down every window shutter it was so bad). No lights, stove/oven and power points in the front third of the house. Fridges still running, and we've got extension cords everywhere for the freezer, computer and tv/video in the lounge room.

About 2am we saw lights and mum went out to talk to the electricity bloke. He said he'd turned the phase back on, but it blew straight away (which explained why the answering machine came back on for a moment). He was checking the lines for fallen branches, but said if he couldn't find anything it was probably in the lines and would have to wait till morning.

Called Energy Australia this morning, they said indefinite. Called a little while ago and they said they had a crew over the other side of the suburb and we should be next. Hope it won't be too much longer. We're supposed to be having baked dinner tonight.
