krazykitkat: (smart (CJ))
I'll have to fight Jennifer Byrne, but I want to jump Andrew Denton (see Rove, that is how to conduct an interview, it's not about you). And Major Michael Mori while I'm at it.

Absolutely brilliant Enough Rope tonight that dealt with the truth about David Hicks and the US military commissions. The US government wouldn't allow their own citizens to face a military commission because their citizens have rights. Why hasn't the Australian government fought for the rights of one of their citizens to be respected in the same way? Let alone the fact that David Hicks wasn't allowed sunlight for 8 months, which is mental and physical abuse.

An interesting point that Major Mori made: if the military commissions went ahead, the people running them could be charged with war crimes under international law. Major Mori is a true man of the law, as he said, all he's fighting for is a fair trial. Why do so many not want that?

Unfortunately the people that need their eyes opened won't have watched it.

Hopefully a video and transcript should be up on the website before too long.

Thank you, Petro Georgiou, Judi Moylan, Russell Broadbent, Judith Troeth, Steve Fielding, Bruce Baird, John Forrest, Barnaby Joyce, Marise Payne and Russell Trood.

I'm a little worried I may have an ulcer. Been having pain when eating at work, and had pain after dinner tonight.

krazykitkat: (i feel you (Susan/Marcus))
Was so nice that the producers/writers at L&O:CI remembered back 15 years and brought in Carolyn McCormick. Since Chris Noth started on CI, I've been wanting Liz to turn up, and this was a lovely homage for long time fans.

Though my little Mike/Liz heart is shattered. Wedding ring, photos...but he felt free to call her late at night.

Chris Noth broke me in the moments after the shooting.

krazykitkat: (weather)

Somewhere in Sydney after the hail storm this afternoon. The about pea sized hail fell around the CBD and inner city suburbs. Too small to cause damage, but caused lots of problems with traffic/transport. Very pretty.

Was an amazing day. Warm and sunny this morning (up to 21C (70F)), then started clouding over after lunch, then rain/storms and the isolated hail. Temperature dropped from 17C (63F) to 12.3C (54F) in 20 minutes. Just looking at the rain guage for Observatory Hill - 16mm. Quite a bit of that would be the hail.
