I won't say too much, some things are a little hard to narrate (and remember), and I don't think there's a great deal of interest anyway.

Alexis Cruz - little (though apparently he's about my height) and cute. Been acting since he was 9 (he's my age), went to the Fame school. I don't really know his character in Stargate, not having seen the movie, and the series in only a very disjointed manner. He talked a lot about acting as a craft and I found that very interesting. He mentioned that Peter DeLuise is so into the show, and that if he wasn't involved in it, he'd be at the cons.


Rainbow Sun Francks - very cute. And funny and hyperactive. His hate of Vegemite became a running joke, he's going to use it as insulation for his house. He said it's yeast and it's alive and you're eating it...someone in the audience yelled out "But they're happy little Vegemites!" And we proceeded to sing him the song. He kept seeing native animals bonking, first kangaroos and then fairy penguins.

He used to go on the set of La Femme Nikita to visit his dad, he's got quite a few photos of himself surrounded by guns. He said Peta Wilson was often over at his house, talking cars with his father. He auditioned for SGA just before they were about to start shooting, and was finally offered the role the day before. So he said he was very out of it during Rising. He loves sci-fi.

At the end of the day, all the actors came out to draw the raffle, which was for a large framed collection of 4 autographed Stargate photos (RDA, Amanda, Chris and Michael I think). Rainbow grabbed it and ran out the door. He then came in the door at the back and went to the dealers table and asked "how much?" :)


Julie Caitlin Brown - she auditioned for Delenn and Susan, talked about how she got the role last minute on Babylon 5 after the previous actress had a panic attack and ripped the mask off. She said she's known as latex lady (played many aliens), someone in the audience snorted, and she replied not that kind. Talked about a funny moment when she was mistaken for a real drill sargeant by a tv crew on the set of JAG. Sang a few songs.


Torri Higginson - totally different from Weir, I very much like her (and I like Weir too). She said that after she'd had the makeup done for Old Weir in Before I Sleep, she looked in the mirror and recognised her grandmother. She showed us photos of her dog dressed up as a Wraith. Someone asked how her Johnny Depp obsession is going. She replied that fans keep sending her pictures of him, and her mother is worried about her ;)

She was asked if she could play any role, what would it be. She said that if a story was ever made about the singer Patti Smith (I think...I could be misremembering), she'd love to play her. And anything that Katharine Hepburn did, and every Shakespearean play.

They've finished filming season 2, and she said that Elizabeth will become more dark by the end of season. And ( general plot point spoiler )

Someone asked how many batteries Weir had left, she said one and she should watch what she says at cons. And she wants Elizabeth to go to a planet with gorgeous young men with 8 arms.

Someone asked about the relationship between Weir and Rodney. She said she thinks they're like brother and sister, they love each other, and she puts up with him. And she said David always has the flu (and he's a little like Rodney) ;)

So she told them that they couldn't stop acting until she yelled fallout or at ease. ET (or one of those things) was filming on the set and asked her to yell some sentence into the camera (I can't remember what it was). They said it was great that a real drill sargeant had been hired. I think she was kinda flattered.


Someone asked Torri if she was recognised much. She said no, but she's had a few people come up to her in bars, including one guy who came up to her and whispered, "My friends don't know I watch the show..."

And my sister's telling of the toilet story...

And my own personal experience with Torri...I think.

My sister and I went to the loos after waiting 2 and a half hours for autographs (it's all Rainbow's fault...his line went the longest). I was washing my hands when I heard a Canadian voice say, "Is anyone there?" I replied yes, and she said that there was no toilet paper and could I pass her some.

I had a moment of, but my hands are still wet, and how much do I get...before I passed her some toilet paper. Her line was just about finished when we'd left the autographs finally, so I'm fairly certain it was Torri.

So, I've had my adventure with a convention guest, just as my sister had one at the last convention (almost colliding with Connor Trinneer).

I'd gladly go and see Torri again.
