Sep. 17th, 2005 12:46 amIt's raining and the Sydney Swans are into the AFL grandfinal...but those two exciting events aren't what I wanted to tell you.
While at work today, I got a phone call from a HR bloke at the Australian Bureau of Statistics. He said he had a note from the interview that I had health issues and wanted some more information. I did a brief explanation and said I was hoping by early next year the anaemia would be under control, but at this stage I can't take on a full time job. He said that I was high (there may have been a 'very' in there, but my mind blanked at some stage) on the merit list (and he said congratulations), and that they'll keep me on the merit list, and as jobs come up they will contact me to see whether I can take it at that time. And he said that he hopes I'll be joining them next year.
So I seem to have a future plan and I am employable. I'm so relieved.
