Aug. 2nd, 2005 12:42 amHad a surprising phone call at work today.
In mid June I put in an application for a job at the Australian Bureau of Statistics (Level 4 - a number of positions). Hadn't heard anything about it, and came to the conclusion that I was hopeless if I couldn't even get an interview with them.
Also came to the conclusion that I'd be staying with my current job till next year. Until I can work a full week there, there's not much hope (or point) of me jumping into a full time job elsewhere (I'm struggling with the 3 afternoons a week at the moment, plus still have some issues to deal with - jumping in the deep end too soon would only result in me going backwards).
Today the ABS phoned about an interview. I was a little shell shocked.
Interview's on Thursday, 25 minute written exercise, 25 minutes panel interview, which is a novelty and scary.
While I know that if, by some miracle, I'm offered the job, I can't accept it at this time, I guess it's more experience and a little boost for the self esteem.
