krazykitkat: (margaret)
It took a day to get the bloody singing linesman from Wichita out of my head.

Telstra was out on Monday, several houses lost their phonelines. Note: when you call to say you're without power/phone lines/whatever, give full details. The idiot across the road, where the tree was, only told Energy Australia that he had no power, instead of telling them that a tree was on the lines and there was a live powerline on the road. And while I gave them the full details later, it probably meant that we were further down the list than we should've been. And when he called Telstra, he only told them his phone was out, again not that a tree had taken the lines out. So the Telstra bloke was checking the boxes instead of checking the lines to the house (dad saw him down in the hole and told him).

Optus was also out to look at their lines, as dad called them to say that their cables had become untied. The bloke said that someone else will have to come out and fix it. Foxtel was also called, not sure when they'll be out (or they may already have been).

The council came yesterday and cleaned up. They had this fabulous woodchipper that took even the trunk. They were using a winch and chain for the large pieces and as they were facing down the hill, the logs kept rolling underneath the woodchipper. They ended up turning the truck around to face uphill. Only took a bit over an hour, they did a wonderful job of cleaning up, even blowing all the sawdust off the road. The council will also be having a look at the remaining tree. It lost one branch and all the weight is now on one side, with only one main branch at about a 45 degree angle.

Only just survived two days at work. So tired, with being up earlier on Sunday not helping matters. I assume it's the anaemia, but been so tired the last two months, much more than my normal level of tired.

Something about gmail is bugging me. It's not sending me a copy of emails I send to lists. So half the time I'm wondering if it's gone through the lists. Is there a way to get it to send it to you?
