House fire last week.
Tonight a boat in the middle of Bobbin Head Road (Pentecost Ave intersection).
We'd stopped at the lights and I looked forward and to the right and saw a boat on the road, partway into the intersection.
Said to dad, "There's a boat!" I don't think he believed me at first. A SES truck turned up while we were waiting, when we went through the intersection, looked to our left and saw the trailer and vehicle. Called the cop shop, dad asked whether they'd had a report of a boat on the road. We could hear the cop asking around, no one had (giggling at this point).
Dad had the police scanner, came across as a 'parking complaint' (more giggles). The police didn't turn up for about an hour (apparently not enough cars). There was another report over the scanner that the boat owner was irate and abusing people. Apparently intoxicated and forgot to tie it onto the trailer. They closed down the intersection and moved it, about 90 minutes after we reported it.
I'm not going to work next Monday.
