Bloody hell
Aug. 9th, 2004 12:36 amI don't know whether this first semi-final is a particularly strong lot, but there's more than three that should go through.
My three:
Chanel - just sublime. I don't know the song (Portishead's Glory Box), but just amazing. Haunting and sensual and...the judges are worried that people won't respond because it's more obscure, but we all, including mum, adored it. And a little unhinged :)
Courtney - I like his voice, really like it. And as he was very croaky, he still did very well.
Hayley - Sarah McLachlan's Angel is done a lot, but this was beautiful.
Ngaiire is lovely, though I did think her actual performance, the movements, was fidgety. Emily - compared to Lauren from last year and the American Idol 16 year olds, a totally different league. Very mature. Anthony was a bit of a revelation, very nice voice, and I still like Ben's face :)
And just want to have a beer with Laurence.
