May. 9th, 2004 12:51 amParkinson was hilarious tonight. Patrick Stewart, Harry Connick Jnr and Lionel Ritchie.
And Parky's right, Harry's a freak! Stack of buttons - rotfl! And high fiving his pre-school daughter after she punched a little boy in the face after he'd been annoying her. And then he got into trouble.
Watched Love Among the Ruins with Katharine Hepburn and Laurence Olivier on dvd. First time I've ever seen it, I don't know if it's been repeated on Australian tv since the mid 70s (I assume it would've been shown then).
Just wonderful, such acting greats, a moving and funny story and the interaction between them :sigh:
And I nearly cried when Sir Arthur Glanville-Jones used the same Shakespearean sonnet I used in Athenaeum in his closing:
To me, fair friend, you never can be old;
For as you were when first your eye I eyed,
Such seems your beauty still.
So glad I bought it.
