It's cool and we have power!
The electricity went out about 5:15pm, had to open the window shutters so we could see, called it in to the appropriate authorities.
About half an hour later there was a truck around, dad talked to him, the main road was out too and he was trying to find where the problem was on the high tension lines.
I rang back before 7pm, was told it was the two suburbs around us too (as per bloody usual - we go out regularly) and estimated time was 11pm.
Dad hooked a small b&w tv up to the car battery and I thought we'd watch Joan of Arcadia that way. But the tv packed up after about 5 minutes (we'll miss that tv, ~ 20 years old).
My brother then suggested calling our other brother to record it (didn't think of him). Matt called Michael, yapped a bit to both Katherine (Michael's wife) and then Michael, and then said "I'm calling on behalf of our sisters. We haven't got any power and..." and PRESTO! The power came back on!
Matt's magic.
We're still getting Pizza Hut for dinner. And now there's some spots of rain and some rumbling. And the breeze is beautiful.
