Was watching the story on the DNC on the late news last night and mum said, "The two Johns. Are they anything like the two Ronnies?"
*not sure how many of the USers know the Two Ronnies*
***
As soon as you turn on the radio/stereo/tv, CJ starts whistling and chattering away.
And they love corn on the cob.
***
Where the fuck do all these fanfic authors (I shudder to use that expression in relation to them) get the idea that Jed desperately wanted/wants a son?
And as for the trainwreck from that idiot that I've had run-ins with...her characters are unrecognisable, the storyline is so far off the rails...and yet she has others praising her and wanting more?
It eludes me.

But that story of hers is horrific. And yet she has the hide to flame people over one wrongly spelt word or their opinion.
I don't recall one instance of the show where there's even been a hint that Jed desperately wanted a son.

lock it if you want, but your not the only one that has had a run in with her.

And it's a bit of a relief I'm not the only one. Does she go around purposely trying to annoy people?
I'm calmer about her now...I think. Was to the point just seeing her name sparked panic attacks.
And yes. But I guess they buy into the society stereotyping that a man has to want a son.
Bleh.

I can't believe that someone with such poor writing skills can have the gall to start up a fanfiction list and then discourage other activities unrelated to writing.

I only lurk on that group and been close to bailing several times (I left the CJ/Simon list because of her).
And most of the fanfic lists encourage screencaps/other news etc.

I've been thinking for some time now that I should unsubscribe from many of my lists. As someone who doesn't write very much there doesn't seem to be a place for me on fanfic lists and much of the fiction that is posted isn't worth the read. I'm afraid, yahoo has become the place for the novice to post.
I think it is active discussion, the regular posting of items of interest such as photos and news that keep a yahoo group going strong. Just look at the CJ/Toby group.

I never particularly liked that list, very few good stories/writers after the initial burst of activity.

She's apparently in her early 20s, acts more like a 10 year old.
I'v managed to keep under the radar on the CJ/Ron list, but I do definitely keep thinking I should leave it.

I just don't see him thinking he missed out on anything. And as for these stories which has Abbey deciding he wants a son and asking CJ to have it...that's so not Abbey. If Jed ever complained about not having a son she'd be more likely to tell him to grow up and be thankful for what he has got.
They have no feeling for the characters.

Mallory, maybe, or possibly Zoey.
Now see what you've done?
*drowns misshappen plot bunnies and buries them DEEP*
As for the president, I can almost see justification, in that he's pretty much adopted Josh and Charlie (as well as C.J., which works against the theory). I don't think he'd ever admit it, though, and he certainly wouldn't do anything to make it public knowledge.
I'm reading a piece now where an illegitimate son of Jed's, conceived before his marriage and born without his knowledge, shows up and causes Abbie all sorts of angst along these lines. It doesn't require too much suspension of disbelief.

It stands to reason his staff would be like his kids, and they're mostly male. That's just the reality.
I just loathe the whole 'He must want a son' idea. It's so stereotyped, up there with every woman wants a baby.
ANd the added problem is that the majority of people who try to write these storylines can't write. Only a very precious few would be able to pull them off.

CJ and Charlie are the only ones Jed really treats as his kids.

But in Two Cathedrals, he actually said it: "That was my son! What did I ever do to yours?"
Should I capitalize some of that? Dunno; not religious.

I guess i see a difference between treating them as his sons/daughters and "wanting" a biological son.
