Highly amused to see that [livejournal.com profile] electricsoup post the Muppet Show Mahna Mahna skit.

Especially since tonight on the Oz music quiz show Spicks and Specks they had a question on where it was first heard - '"Mah Nà Mah Nà" debuted as part of Umiliani's soundtrack for the Italian softcore pornography movie Svezia, Inferno e Paradiso (Sweden, Heaven and Hell) (1968), a pseudo-documentary film about wild sexual activity and other behavior in Sweden ("Mah Nà Mah Nà" accompanied a scene set in a sauna)'. (from wikipedia) It was a more uptempo version.

And everyone involved in the show were singing along and Alan said he's sure there's a disease which makes you sing the whole thing through.

I thought of you, [livejournal.com profile] lizbee, when I heard on the radio about the giant squid washing up in Tassie.

And the "Wandin Valley Hospital" (A Country Practice) is up for sale.

A Country Practice was such a favourite! My mother blames it for my desire to have unusual animals wandering around the place......

Someone outside Oz who knows it!!!!

I grew up with it, and Vicky was my first role model. There were such great roles for women. THey're starting to put the dvds out...I'm trying to restrict myself at the moment.

Heh over the animals :)

Well, I'm multi-national that way! I loved Vicky (in a house full of Molly-lovers that was not easy!) most of all. DVDs?????? Really??????

I do have a wombat in the kitchen.

Admittedly a small furry one sent by a client, but still. He's looking for food under the kitchen counter. Successfully, it would appear, because he's been there quite some time....

Is your wombat called Fatso?? :) Apparently Fatso was a vicious thing.

I wanted to be Vicky. I had scrapbooks of ACP clippings, I'm so sorry I gave them to a friend in high school when I had stopped wtaching. I wish I still had them. One of the girls at our high school had a guest role, the friend I gave the scrapbooks to did work experience on the set. And the father of another friend supplied 2 funnel web spiders for filming and was most unhappy when one came back dead.

The dvds are expensive, but Ezydvd does ship internationally. There's a huge number of episodes.
