Musing on WW ep 7.11

Thanks to the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] quasiradiant, got a download of the episode. Haven't watched it all yet, but have watched the important bits twice.

He looks damn good. Beard just how I like it. And his hair and beard looks a little redder than season 4.

I love how they haven't lost the discussing/arguing politics, they were straight into it. And he is sounding very cynical about politics, so I can buy the wanting to leave reporting. And I love how he's pushing them to do things again, like back in first season.

I thought the waitress totally overreacted. CJ was short with her, not bitchy. And personally I hate things being read to me, I forget what was said at the beginning. Reading is much better.

I loved the shade of green top that Kate was wearing, very pretty.

Poor Gail! And when Danny was calling over the phone, he said, "Claudia Jean" at one point. They would've been better off to either film or build the set so you just saw "The Washington", it's the same font as the Post.

The end dinner...sigh.

Didn't know whether to laugh or cringe at the "Doug Westin's libido broke the camel's back".

He nearly made me cry with the holding hands on the way down.

But I don't think there was any ring (I didn't see him make any move suggestive of having something in his pocket), and I don't think he was proposing. I think he was just going to ask that they try out a relationship after Inauguration Day.

Which probably means there will be no sex before the end of the series, if we ever see him again :( I wanted a bedroom scene dammit!

I thought I was the only one who didn't think he proposed!

That wasn't my reaction at all, as I told [livejournal.com profile] sternel he was asking her to 'go steady' (LOL). He wants to be with her, and that's all he was asking. To me, proposing is WAY overreacting...

I'm glad you liked it though!!

[identity profile] krazykitkat.livejournal.com 2006-01-21 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly! I didn't see any evidence of a proposal. The 'going steady' was the logical conclusion.

And I don't know why people thought he was getting a ring out of his pocket. He didn't make any move towards his pocket that I could see.

Well, it SOUNDED an awful lot like a proposal, I have to admit that. But he's always been...sappy and romantic? So it would make sense for him to know the perfect thing to say...

[identity profile] krazykitkat.livejournal.com 2006-01-21 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
Well it's a proposal for a relationship, just not marriage.

Except the way he shifted in the chair, it looked for a moment like he was about to go down on one knee. And my thought was "OMG, they're not. They better not, it totally doesn't work here..." And then he kept talking and it was all OK. =)

He did look very good.

[identity profile] krazykitkat.livejournal.com 2006-01-21 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
I thought the shifting was awkwardness/nervousness.

[identity profile] sternel.livejournal.com 2006-01-21 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, it totally was. Just the way he tilted to one side, I couldn't figure out what he was doing? But one possible vector was down on his knees. So I can understand where one might get the impression. But I think anyone who thought he'd really go through with it doesn't know his character. Brad, obviously, does. =)

[identity profile] krazykitkat.livejournal.com 2006-01-21 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I think that anyone who seriously thought he'd propose really doesn't know Danny. I do wonder if we hadn't had the flashforward whether people would've made that assumption.

I wanted a bedroom scene dammit!

ME TOO. Before the series ends?! Please?! And I only saw the end, but SQUEEE!!!

As for the ring...dunno. I like to think he did. But that's just the pathetically hopeless romantic in me. :D

[identity profile] krazykitkat.livejournal.com 2006-01-21 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
I'm romantic, but I need realism. I would've been yelling at the tv and cursing Brad for destroying Danny.

[identity profile] marlfox24.livejournal.com 2006-01-21 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, realism is good...

I wish I'd seen it from the beginning. I was out to dinner w/ mia familia and it took FOREVER. [sighs] Well, that's what DVDs are for... And recaps...
