House Bill 228 will make it illegal to perform any abortion on a woman, even if her life is at risk, or she was a victim of sexual assault. It would place felony penalties on anyone who attempts to coordinate an abortion for a minor, and would make it a felony to transport a woman across state lines to obtain an abortion, even to save her life. Just picture the state putting a husband in jail for 15 years just for driving her across state lines to obtain an abortion that will save her life. This is what will happen in Ohio if this law is passed.

So they've gone the extra step where they're quite happy to kill women.

And a note from twistedchick about how laws like this are being interpreted to mean that if a fetus dies, doctors may not be legally allowed to go in and remove the fetus before it poisons the mother.

No, but I know our former exchange student, whose father works for like some super uber-bank over there. I can go on street corners and sing for my supper. I'd rather sing for my supper on a street corner where I have all my rights than live in the nice cushy house I currently have and have them slowly taken from me.

Here in Canada we have Harper. And all he has to do is smile, and he terrifies me. (He's already planned on putting same sex marriage issues back on the table, and that's probably just the tip of the iceberg that's lurking in the PMO.)
