Reading the Babylon 5 script books, I still get teary whenever Rick Biggs is mentioned.

I want fanfic that nobody seems to write. Hitchcock/Ford (seaQuest DSV - there has to have been hot sweaty sex after they rebuilt the Gazelle), Ziva/Gibbs (NCIS - such sparkage, even my mother saw it).

Finished watching my seaQuest DSV dvds. Such Great Patience and Nothing But The Truth (with the added bonus of some gorgeous shots of Stacy Haiduk) are my favourite eps. And I got the giggles everytime I saw Sean Potter (Judging Amy - and do I reveal my embarrassing desire for Sean/Maxine?) with long hair.

wingswing ain't happening. got nothing.

I believe that when we leave a place a part of it goes with us and a part of us remains. Go anywhere in these halls, when it is quiet and just listen. After a while you will hear the echoes of all of our conversations, every thought and word we've exchanged. Long after we are gone, our voices will linger in these walls for as long as this place remains. But I will admit that the part of me that's going will very much miss the part of you that is staying.

My sister called on dad's mobile just before I got to work to tell me that Andreas was sleeping in the light. I wasn't shocked as I'd heard a few months ago that he was terminally ill, but it still hit hard. I'm sorry I never had the honour of meeting him.

Words from Peter David and Bill Mumy.

The Babylon 5 family have lost too many over the last few years.

G'Quon wrote, "There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain."

*

The universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements. Energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest.

*

The Universe speaks in many languages, but only one voice. The language is not Narn, or Human, or Centauri, or Gaim or Minbari. It speaks in the language of hope; It speaks in the language of trust; It speaks in the language of strength, and the language of compassion. It is the language of the heart and the language of the soul. But always, it is the same voice. It is the voice of our ancestors, speaking through us, And the voice of our inheritors, waiting to be born. It is the small, still voice that says: We are one. No matter the blood; No matter the skin; No matter the world; No matter the star; We are one. No matter the pain; No matter the darkness; No matter the loss; No matter the fear; We are one. Here, gathered together in common cause. we agree to recognise this singular truth, and this singular rule: That we must be kind to one another, because each voice enriches us and ennobles us, and each voice lost diminishes us. We are the voice of the Universe, the soul of creation, the fire that will light the way to a better future. We are one.

Apparently when little Logan was born, they found my cousin was a week further along than they thought, so ~30 weeks.

My Gilmore Girls and West Wing season 5 dvds arrived today (I'm getting annoyed with how long amazon is taking). My Seaquest dvds were sent today (so will have to wait about 3 weeks), and yesterday they sent That's Entertainment Trilogy (actually 4 dvds, I've been wanting them for ages to replace my videos, bought it with the gift certificate the lovely Rhonda sent me for Chrissie). Also getting a few movies (including a few with Allison in little parts).

Stolen from everyone:

Name a fandom you know I know and I'll tell you:

1. The first character I first fell in love with
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't
4. The character I love that everyone else hates
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer
6. The character I would shag anytime
7. The character I'd want to be like
8. The character I'd slap
9. A pairing that I love
10. A pairing that I despise

My first volume of the Babylon 5 scripts arrived today (much faster than amazon!). And the dedication made me cry.

Dedicated with love and respect to the memory of
Richard Biggs
whose ship departed unexpectedly
and far too early.

We envy the stars his magnificent company.

I tried to show it to mum, but she didn't have her reading glasses on and told me to read it out. My voice started breaking on his name, and I had to stop, and then barely got the last line out.

I'm going to try and be a little brave and release my very first fanfic that has only been read by a few people.
It's Babylon 5, Susan-centric, with a dash of Susan/Marcus. This is essentially the first draft with just some minor edits. I had a wonderful B5 list person edit it way back when, but I never got around to fixing it up due to life imploding. And by the time I was semi-stable again, I didn't have the heart to do it.
So please excuse the many problems: passive sentences, head hopping povs, too much "tell", abstract narrative, awkward auxiliary verb constructions, not up close and personal enough. And some parts really make me cringe.
However, over all I like it, and I'm proud of some parts. It's probably general enough to make some sense to those who don't know B5.

Just my footsteps, blue sky and the warm sun. And a number of young magpies.
If only I didn't have to come back. Then would walk forward forever until my feet fell off.

But so unfit. About 2 kilometres with some hills and long slopes, and I'm tired. And my toes are red and my poor fingers swollen and achey. Damn blood pumps in but can't all get back out.

I'm sending mail to Washington, D.C.!
{fans fangirlself}
Even looked up the map last night to see where it is...well at least the road.

Rick Biggs was on Crossing Jordan we watched last night. A little tear. He was typecast a little as a doctor.

Thanks to Athena for sending me this:

'Some of you may know my work on the official Babylon 5 music videos - I haven't done one in four years, but Rick's passing got me thinking about scenes and connections, and I made a new tribute video for Rick I'd like to share with the community...

Joe Straczynski gave me permission to post this online, so here goes... you can download it here:

Rick will be missed...

John Hudgens'

That link will play it in the browser. You can also download the actual file at

I'm on dialup, and it was actually quicker this way.

Warning, have tissues available. Just gorgeous.

ETA: Also there's 2 scenes with Franklin's father which are doubly moving, Paul Winfield died in March.
